18th Edition Wiring Regulations Update Course
It is the responsibility of every contracting electrician to ensure they are fully conversant with current electrical regulations, but it is equally important that maintenance electricians and electrical managers have sound knowledge of the regulations that relate to their environments and operations.
This course is recommended for holders of the current 17th Edition qualification to Amendment 3 2015 standard. It is primarily aimed at electrical tradespersons and electrical managers to make them aware of the changes introduced to the wiring regulations and implications to design and installation practices. The course will also be of great benefit to companies that intend to perform inspection and testing of fixed wiring installations by providing a sound knowledge of the latest version of the 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
The course builds to a 2-hour open book examination consisting of 60 multiple choice questions.
Delegates will require a copy of the BS7671:2022 publication, both for the training course and examination. The course fee does not include a copy of this.
Please note that you must bring photographic ID such as passport or driving license with you in order to sit the assessment on this course.
The course focuses on the changes brought in by the 18th Edition Wiring Regulations, including:
Our Virtual Learning courses give delegates the opportunity to learn from the comfort of their own home whilst still getting all the tuition they would in the classroom.
This is training online but not to be mistaken for E-learning. Our training is delivered in real time by one of our electrical tutors using video conferencing software that gives delegates the opportunity to watch and listen to the tutor, follow the presentation live and interact and ask any questions they may have.
There are scheduled course dates with set start and end times, and short breaks throughout the sessions. This differs to E-Learning where courses are pre-recorded and you can join at any time.
Our virtual learning can be accessed via a PC, laptop or tablet. When you make a booking, we’ll then send you your joining instructions with the link to access the training – it really is that simple.
To ensure our virtual courses run as smooth as possible, we require the following:
We ask for this information no later than 2 weeks before the course start date. If no information is received, the email invite and course pack will be sent to the booker and company address provided.
Your examination will take place shortly after the course. On the first day of the training, we will provide date options for City & Guilds Remote Invigilation or an in centre examination based at Rotherham. Please note, City & Guilds Remote Examinations are held 7 days in advance from the last day of the course. Therefore, your examination preference should be confirmed to us as soon as possible for registration purposes.
City & Guilds Remote Invigilation means there is no need to come to centre to sit the exam. This gives delegates greater flexibility and removes the need to travel to one of our training centres, saving you time and money.
Remote exams are invigilated online by a representative from City & Guilds who will supervise the delegate and ensure exam conditions are met. Your results will be available from us as soon as you have completed the exam.
Please note, for remote invigilation you will need:
For further information regarding City & Guilds Remote Invigilation and how to take the exam, download the candidate guide here.
In-centre exams are still available for virtual courses if preferred. Our training team will provide you with available dates/times at our various locations for you to select the slot most suitable.
Hopefully you will pass first time but, if required you can simply resit the exam rather than having to attend the whole course again.
The publication will be referenced throughout the training and will be needed for the end of course open book exam
This will take place on the afternoon of the course
Results will be available instantaneously after completing the assessment.
