1 day virtual course

CompEx ExF Foundation Module

CompEx is the national training and assessment scheme for electro technical crafts personnel who work in potentially explosive atmospheres, such as on and off-shore Oil and Gas Pharmaceuticals, Energy and Chemical industries.

CompEx is a national joint training initiative developed and implemented by the Engineering Equipment and Material Users Association (EEMUA) and JTL and is supported by the Health and Safety Executive.

JTL, who is the national training agent for the Electrical contracting industry, has been appointed to develop, operate and manage the training provision across the UK and has licensed and accredited a number of centres to deliver the training and assessment.

On successful completion of this virtual 1-day course, the candidates will be issued with a certificate of core competence by JTL and EEMUA.

There is no practical assessment within this foundation course, therefore no pre-requisites have been defined.

What can I expect from Virtual Learning?

Our Virtual Learning Courses give delegates the opportunity to learn from the comfort of their own home - ideal during this unprecedented time where social distancing is key.

Courses will be delivered online by one of our electrical tutors, just as they would be in a classroom facility. This is training online but not to be mistaken for E-learning. Our training is delivered in real time using video conferencing software that gives delegates the opportunity to watch and listen to the tutor, follow the presentation live and interact and ask any questions they may have.

There is scheduled course dates with set start and end times, and short breaks throughout the sessions. This differs to E-Learning where courses are pre-recorded and you can join at any time.

Our virtual learning can be accessed via a PC, laptop or tablet. When a booking has been made, we’ll then send you your joining instructions with the link to access the training shortly before the course – it really is that simple.

How do I take the exam?

Once you have completed the virtual training course, you will then be directed to the assessments portal and given a unique keycode where you will be able to complete the examination online straight after the course. Please note the exam will be invigilated via video conferencing so you will need video capability.
