If you are attending a virtual City & Guilds course or need to re-sit an online examination, remote invigilation is a fantastic option and means you can take the exam at a time and place to suit you. This gives delegates greater flexibility around work and other commitments and removes the need to travel to one of our training centres - saving you time and money.
How does the invigilation work?
To successfully sit a remote exam, delegates will need:
- A Windows PC or laptop (Windows 8 or higher)
- A strong/stable internet connection
- A webcam
- A microphone
- Photo ID (no older than 10 years) – e.g., driving license, passport, work-based ID or Student ID are all acceptable
To ensure the examination remains secure, an online invigilator from City & Guilds will supervise the candidate using audio-visual streams supported by Artificial Intelligence (AI) monitoring.
The same exam conditions apply as per an in-centre examination, and results are available from us on completion.
What tests are available for remote invigilation?
Remote examinations are available on the majority of City & Guilds e-volve tests. From the courses we provide, this includes:
- City & Guilds 2382-22
- City & Guilds 2391-52
- City & Guilds 2377-77
How do I book?
On our virtual courses, the training team will provide in centre or remote examination options on the morning of the first day of the course. Remote examinations are held 7 days in advance from the time of booking. Therefore, if you wanted to sit the exam immediately after the course, we would need to know in advance to ensure you are registered in time.
The same applies to remote re-sits, please get in touch at least 7 days before you would like to take the examination to ensure sufficient registration time.
Once a date and time has been agreed, our team will book your exam with City & Guilds. You’ll then receive an invite email containing a link to join the live invigilation session and a verification code.
